Need for Speed Payback is, as the developers from Ghost Games position their creation, a completely new round in the series of arcade car simulators, in which the emphasis is placed not only on graphics and tuning, but also on an interesting plot. The game takes place in Fortune Valley - a paradise for racers and an abode of crime. The city itself is similar to Seattle and Las Vegas and includes various landscapes such as urban areas, desert, mountains and forest.
According to the plot, three main characters: Jess, Mac and Tyler teamed up to take revenge on a criminal cartel. The matter is not easy, because the cartel controls the entire police force and is the largest in the city. Betrayal, intrigue, investigation await us, everything is like in the NTV program of the same name.
As for cars, here, as in previous parts of the series, they are divided into 5 types: for drifting, off-road, racing, runners and drag. All are represented by both classic and modern models, for example, there is a Chevrolet Camaro SS 1967, Nissan 350Z 2008, Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport 2016, Dodge Charger R/T 1969. The vehicle fleet is promised to be very large.
Traveling around the city is not limited in any way, except perhaps by traffic rules, the frequent violation of which will interest the police. The player can also find abandoned cars and make them his own, and then put them in “order” with the help of styling and tuning. The developers promise to make the last two aspects the most advanced in the history of the series. From the races, players will have access to all modes present in previous games.
Other features of Need for Speed Payback include the presence of a damage system, smart artificial intelligence of police officers and other racers, the ability to play without an Internet connection, and a results table to compare your achievements in races with other players.
In general, according to the developers, the new part of Need for Speed has taken into account all the mistakes, especially of the previous game, which received lukewarm reviews from ordinary players and professional critics.
