Lucky number. Preview of Samsung Galaxy S3. Review of Samsung Galaxy S3 – the best smartphone of all time? Samsung galaxy s3 screen resolution

You don't see anyone with smartphones these days. Until relatively recently, these gadgets were perceived by a large number of consumers as something new, supernatural and inaccessible to the average Russian, but today it is already very difficult to imagine your life without them. These are stylish and will help pass the time on a trip or in long lines, and the large number of different options makes them truly indispensable.

The South Korean company Samsung is one of the manufacturers mobile technology. Just a few years ago, mobile phones produced by corporations from South Korea, were not of good quality, quickly failed and were extremely unreliable. Over the course of several years, the South Korean manufacturer managed to make a significant leap in its development, increase production volumes and significantly improve the quality of its products. All this allowed Samsung to become one of the leading smartphone manufacturers for the first time in many years.

One of the brand's most popular smartphone lines has allowed the company to take a leading position in the global mobile industry. About one of the most successful gadgets made in South Korea Samsung Galaxy-S3, reviews of which are mostly positive, will be discussed in this article.

Device delivery set

In most cases, reviews about the delivery package are positive. According to the owners of this stylish device, along with the smartphone the user receives almost everything they need to work with it. The delivery set includes the following items:

  • the phone itself;
  • charger for it;
  • user manual;
  • USB cable;
  • wired headphones;
  • lithium-ion battery.

Design

The appearance of the device is one of its significant shortcomings(according to the owners of the gadget). The smartphone looks too simple; its design is almost copied from previous models. However, several color options, a thin body that fits well in the hand and the relatively small dimensions of the device as a whole create a rather pleasant impression of the gadget.

This model is promoted under a rather interesting motto of the unity of nature and technology, so we can assume that the rounded shape of the device is somewhat similar to a stone on the sea coast. The impression is also enhanced by the pattern covering the back of the device. The smartphone body is available in white, blue and black colors. All three versions look quite good and it is really difficult to choose a clear favorite among them.

Dimensions

As for the dimensions of the flagship smartphone of 2012, it must be said that they are relatively small - 13.66 by 7.06 by 0.88 centimeters with a device weight of 133 grams. As you can see, the device turned out to be quite thin, and the small weight of the Samsung Galaxy-S3 is also pleasing. The device fits quite well in the hand, easily fits into a trouser pocket, does not interfere with walking and does not take up too much space.

Assembly and controls

There are absolutely no complaints about the assembly of the smartphone. Owner reviews about the Samsung Galaxy-S3 are good. According to them, the plastic case is very well and tightly assembled. The only thing I can complain about is the removable panel, which is slightly squeezing in the camera area. It is difficult to remove the back cover, as it is very rigidly fixed and pressed close to the surface.

There is no play throughout the entire area of the device: neither at the back nor on the sides. The buttons are great too. And although the Samsung Galaxy-S3 smartphone, reviews of which are mostly positive, was rated “satisfactory” for its materials, it can safely be given “excellent” for its build quality.

The layout of the smartphone controls is typical for most products of the South Korean company Samsung. On the top panel of the device, the user will find a standard 3.5 mm jack, which is designed specifically for connecting headphones, a microUSB port, and a microphone. On the left side there is a volume rocker, while on the right there is a display lock button. I must say that they are very comfortable. It's a shame that the phone doesn't have a dedicated button specifically for taking photos. She obviously wouldn't be in the way here.

Under the device’s display there is a single key, complemented by two touch zones “Functions” and “Back”. A similar innovation can be observed in the Samsung Galaxy-S3 mini smartphone, reviews of which are even better than those of the model described in this article. These two zones have backlights, which, if desired, can be turned off completely or the duration of their operation can be set.

Above the screen of this model, the consumer will be able to find a silver overlay for the speaker and lighting, as well as the front camera. Many users of such a wonderful device are also pleased that a light indicator has finally appeared here. It must be said that the diode shines brightly, can notify about missed calls, new messages, and also flashes when charging.

The back surface of the smartphone is smooth and even, like pebbles smoothed by water. The main camera, which is edged with a silver frame, protrudes slightly at the top. There is a small gap between it and the body, where dust constantly gets in. However, everything is relatively easy to clean, so only the most picky users of the gadget will be able to identify this drawback. Also on the back panel there is a speaker hole and, of course, an LED flash, which is located directly next to the main camera.

Display

We are all gradually starting to get used to ultra-large display diagonals mobile devices operating under the Android platform. Was no exception samsung phone Galaxy-S3. And although its screen diagonal is not 6, but “only” 4.8 inches, it clearly cannot be called small. Nevertheless, such a display, if we take into account the reviews of the Samsung Galaxy-S3 from owners, was liked by many buyers.

The device screen is made using HD Super AMOLED technology, has a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels, and also supports up to 10 clicks simultaneously. This version of the smartphone from the South Korean manufacturer Samsung is not without PenTile, which noticeably affects the clarity of fonts. Most likely, only particularly eagle-eyed users will notice this, while other consumers will leave this fact without any attention, since it is not noticeable at all.

With a pixel density of 306 pixels per inch, there is no need to complain about low image quality. Defects in the display are visible only at close range, when the smartphone is located at a distance of 10 cm from the eyes. The picture turns out bright, but automatic adjustment does not work very well here. On the street, the screen brightness is practically not lost, although in this aspect the smartphone is slightly inferior to its analogues in the face Sony Xperia P.

Main and front cameras

Nowadays, one of the main criteria for competition between modern gadgets is the quality of the camera. Best devices removed at approximately the same level. Most users like to store captured footage in their smartphones, so it is very rare that photos go beyond the internal memory or memory card of the device. The capabilities of most modern phone cameras are so great that they allow you to upload the photos you take directly to social media, not to mention highest quality video recording.

The Samsung smartphone is equipped with a main camera whose resolution reaches 8 megapixels. The module also has an LED flash and, of course, automatic image focusing. The smartphone has a quick shooting function, when the device takes a photo immediately after the shutter key is touched. This function, unfortunately, does not always work correctly, so sometimes the pictures turn out blurry. The maximum resolution of photographs is 3264 by 2448 pixels. The main camera can also record video in FullHD resolution - 1920 by 1080 pixels.

Also S3, reviews of which will give you further insight into this device, is equipped with a front camera with a resolution of 1.9 megapixels and is designed for making video calls.

Samsung Galaxy-S3: smartphone characteristics

The device is powered by a quad-core Exynos-4412 processor, a proprietary design of Samsung. The frequency of this processor reaches 1.4 GHz. The graphics adapter here is Mali-400MP. As for RAM, its volume is 1 GB, while internal memory there is plenty here - 16, 32 or 64 GB, depending on the configuration of the device. Moreover, if necessary, the user can use a capacity that should not exceed 32 GB.

operating system

The Samsung device operates under the Android 4.0.4 platform, which is complemented by a proprietary shell called TouchWiz. The smartphone works quite quickly, and using it is pure pleasure.

Communications

Among the communications in the device from the South Korean company Samsung, it is worth highlighting the presence of the fourth version of Bluetooth, USB connectors, as well as a Wi-Fi module, which is designed specifically for wireless Internet access. It is also worth highlighting NFC technology and S Beam.

Battery and runtime

The Samsung smartphone has a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 2100 mAh. The advantages of this battery include the fact that it is replaceable and, if desired, consumers can purchase a spare battery if there are concerns that using one will not be very convenient.

If you go to Samsung settings Galaxy-S3, you can enable energy-saving mode, which will significantly extend the battery life of the smartphone. You can force the processor to operate at a lower frequency, reduce the brightness of the display, or use a different background.

The manufacturer claims that the device's battery life is 9.5 hours during talk time, as well as 290 hours in standby mode. In normal mode, with not too frequent use, the phone can work throughout the day. In this case, it all depends on the load on the device.

Conclusion

To summarize, I would like to say that you can read more positive reviews about the Samsung Galaxy-S3 than negative ones. We are also pleased with the earpiece, which transmits the voice clearly and clearly. As for the ringer volume, it is above average, and the vibration is average in strength. If the case materials were a little higher quality, and the design wasn’t so primitive, we could safely say that Samsung had created the perfect smartphone.

In any case, a product from a renowned South Korean manufacturer is unlikely to disappoint consumers. The device turned out to be of really high quality, and you can purchase it at a price of approximately 15 thousand rubles. Of course, the cost is slightly overpriced, but for this money the consumer will receive a truly high-quality and reliable device that will delight him with its work for a long time.

Samsung Galaxy S III video review:

Throughout its history of use mobile phones and smartphones, I somehow never had to use mobile phones before Samsung devices. Until recently, out of all the variety of different companies that produce smartphones, I was most attracted to communicators from HTC. And my last gadget, which I used for about 2 years, was . By the way, a good device, in every sense of the word. By the way, in general, I had no intention of changing my smartphone; everything seemed to work well with it.

But when I saw the flagship Samsung Galaxy S 3 on the World Wide Web, looked at its characteristics, read reviews and reviews, I simply could not resist the temptation to purchase this newest, most functional smartphone to date.

Shopping trip

And so, having virtually assessed all the functionality and appearance of the Samsung Galaxy S 3, I went to the Euroset salon to look, touch, and possibly immediately purchase this miracle. The only thing I didn’t like was that of the colors available on the Russian market at that time, the Samsung Galaxy S 3 was presented in only three colors: white, blue and red. The black color option, which was the color I preferred, was not on sale at the moment. But when I arrived at the salon, I saw on the display case a Samsung Galaxy S 3 in black, as the sales consultant told me, a black smartphone just went on sale today, which made me very happy.
Taking this flagship in my hands, I immediately decided to purchase this device. In the photographs, the Samsung Galaxy S 3 looked somehow different, many write about this on the Internet and call the Galaxy S 3 body a “remnant”. But in person, the smartphone looks completely different, I was pleasantly surprised.

First impression

As mentioned above, the Samsung Galaxy S 3 struck me as absolutely different from the photo on the Internet and what I saw and touched in real life. In real life, the phone turned out to be very attractive and stylish.
Naturally, due to its size, it did not lie very comfortably in the hand, although before that I used the HTC HD2, and it is also not one of the small smartphones. But after just a few hours of use, I got used to the communicator, everything became convenient and easy, I just didn’t want to let go of this gadget.

Housing, design and dimensions

The body thickness of the Samsung Galaxy S 3 is only 8.6 mm, which was immediately felt in my hands and caught my eye. This is the thinnest mobile device I've ever held in my hands. Operating such a large phone out of habit is, of course, not easy. But I got used to it pretty quickly. If at first I had to use my second hand, now I can freely use one hand without any fear that the phone will fall out of my hand. In general, I kind of liked the size of the phone, in one word – “shovel”, which is kind of fashionable now.

The front view is also quite aesthetic and looks great. Again, it depends on the taste and color, as they say.
Quite a lot has already been said about the back cover of the device on the Internet. Many people complain that the cover is glossy, scratches easily, is very slippery to the touch, etc. Personally, I’m used to carrying my phone in a case, so this factor is not very important for me. And the glossy cover, in my opinion, looks very good. I was amazed that the back cover of the device is very thin, made of thin plastic, and when you remove it from the phone, you can bend the cover and not be afraid of it breaking.
In some reviews I read that there may be some micro-cracks on the back cover, although I didn’t look closely, I didn’t find any cracks. Perhaps someone came across a defective model, but in my case there are no cracks.

Control

If we talk about controlling the Galaxy S 3, then I would like to say right away that every smartphone takes some getting used to. This is a matter of habit; the longer you use any device, the more accustomed you become to it.
On the left edge there is a volume control button, on the right there is a power button. At the bottom of the screen is a button to exit to the main screen of the smartphone. To the right and left of the button to exit to the main screen, there are touch buttons: call acceptance and a return button.

Screen

The display of the Galaxy S 3 is HD Super AMOLED. The screen diagonal is 4.8 inches and the resolution is 1280×720 pixels. In my opinion, the AMOLED technology itself speaks volumes.
The color rendition of the screen is excellent, at least I like it. In addition, in the smartphone screen settings there are four profiles, where everyone can choose and customize any device screen setting for themselves.

Camera, photo

The flagship is equipped with an 8 MP camera. In fact, I have never used a camera with such a resolution before. So there's not much to compare it to.
The Galaxy S 3's camera has the ability to take 20 pictures in a row, which will undoubtedly please photography enthusiasts. Many people write in reviews about the camera that the phone’s camera is very good. I don’t consider myself one of those people who really like to take photographs, but there are situations when you can’t do without a good camera.
When shooting video, it is possible to take photographs directly while recording.
There is also a 1.9 MP front camera, very useful when using video calls.

Video, audio

The built-in player of the Samsung Galaxy S 3 plays almost all formats. The only videos that didn’t work for me were those shot in QuickTime format. But after downloading MX Player from the Android market, the video started without problems. Also, this phone plays FullHD video without any problems.
The speaker of the smartphone is loud, of course it also depends on the files being played back. When listening to music on headphones, the quality of the music played is very decent, the bass sounds just super, I have never heard anything better. The built-in player has an excellent equalizer, you can achieve excellent sound.

Processor and memory

Well, as they say, everything is visible to the naked eye. Today's most powerful quad-core processor Samsung Exynos 4412, 1400 MHz. 1 GB of RAM, although RAM could be added up to 2 GB.
Built-in memory 16 GB. Supports microSD memory cards up to 64 GB. I immediately purchased a 32 GB memory card, and now I have 48 GB on board my device.

Operating time, battery

What can really be considered a breakthrough is the battery in the Samsung Galaxy S 3. The battery capacity is 2100 mAh, the standby time is 900 hours. With a decent load (music, surfing the Internet, games, calls, etc.), the battery lasts the day without straining.

Software

The Galaxy S 3 is equipped with Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with the Samsung TouchWiz proprietary shell.

Well, if the smart device has Android, there is nothing to say, there are a lot of possibilities, you can customize the device completely for yourself. A lot of different applications are always at hand.

Conclusion

In one review it is simply impossible to tell about all the capabilities, goodies and bells and whistles of the Samsung Galaxy S 3. But one thing can be said - this is the most advanced, powerful and unique smartphone at this time.
Of course, the price of the phone may seem capped at 22,000 rubles. on average, and not affordable for many, but it's worth it. If you are thinking of buying a smartphone for that amount, don’t even look at other devices.
You can, of course, compare it with its competitors; they have something in common, but they also have differences. But in my opinion, at this time the Galaxy S 3 is out of competition, all sorts of iPhones out there: iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 are “smoking nervously on the sidelines.”

The world has changed, and if previously a smartphone with a display diagonal of just over 4 inches looked like a shovel, now, when you pick it up, it may seem like this is exactly what you need. Korean developers presented their flagship with a capital “F”, focusing on software and autonomy.

Frame

At the first glance at the phone, it becomes clear that Samsung did not reinvent the wheel and is unlikely to discover anything new in the design concept. You may find yourself thinking: “I’ve seen this before somewhere.” This is understandable, because the device is very similar to its younger brother Galaxy Nexus.

The smartphone is available in 5 colors: sea pebble, titanium gray, garnet red, white marble and black sapphire. Galaxy case The S3 is made of glossy plastic, which, as far as we remember, provoked a number of outrages due to the soiled body and its susceptibility to scratches. But take the device in your hands, you are unlikely to feel cheap, uncomfortable or unaesthetic. The build quality is excellent, nothing crunches or creaks, the removable back cover, although thin, is very flexible and durable. Even if it gets scratched, you can always buy a new one for very little money. In addition, plastic is more resistant to impacts when dropped, which cannot be said about glass. The case is only 8.6mm thick and weighs 133g.

Screen

When getting acquainted with everything, attention involuntarily switches to the HD Super AMOLED display with a diagonal of 4.8" and a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. The image on it turned out to be very vibrant, contrasting and juicy, viewing angles are wide, but the PenTile technology on which the screen is made is more is a disadvantage rather than an advantage, because graininess, although barely noticeable, is still there. But, nevertheless, watching movies or photos, surfing the Internet or just playing on such a device is pleasant and very comfortable. The developers were clearly not mistaken. , betting on a large screen diagonal, and you will understand it when you touch it.

Camera

The main camera with a resolution of 8 megapixels is a new generation matrix with back illumination, which in poor lighting allows you to take photos or videos of very decent quality. The camera works quickly and allows you to click at a speed of 3.5 frames per second. By the way, the device can recognize faces, which can be useful if, for example, you want to send several photos to your friend in which he is depicted. The smartphone is capable of recording video in HD format and simultaneously taking photos.

The front camera with a resolution of 1.9 megapixels is equipped with Smart stay technology (discussed below).

What's inside

Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300 has a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor, 1 GB of RAM and 16, 32 or 64 GB of internal memory. The memory can be expanded with MicroSD cards up to 64GB. The smartphone works quickly and without freezes, as far as possible on Android devices, the smoothness of the interface is almost iOS-like. Installed on board operating system Android 4.0.4.

Although the performance tests show high scores, it is still a mistake to believe that the smartphone stands head and shoulders above the Iphone 5. iOS optimization is done so well that even despite its 4-core muscles, the Galaxy S3 often loses (see video review of Iphone 5 versus Samsung Galaxy S3). But again, this is most likely an Android problem, but certainly not the device itself.

A removable battery with a capacity of 2100 mAh is capable of providing autonomous operation devices for about 1 day in active mode. With an average load, a smartphone can last almost 2 times longer.

Functions

The device is equipped with many functions, some of which can be really useful and in demand.

Smart Alert- a function that will notify you about missed events as soon as you pick up the phone.

Direct call– the ability to call a subscriber while reading an SMS; to do this, you just need to bring the device to your ear.

Smart stay- captures your gaze and automatically adjusts the screen backlight, which ensures comfortable use and saves power. For example, if you are reading, the screen will not turn off, but if you take your eyes off it, it will turn off after a while.

Social tag- the ability to link the faces of your friends in a photo album with social networks. For example, by looking at a friend's photo, you will see his online status.

S Voice- allows you to control your phone using your voice. For example, using voice commands you can unlock your phone, answer incoming call or reject it, control the music volume, or take a photo.

Pop up play- now you can do two things at the same time, for example, watch a video and read SMS.

I would also like to note a special editor that allows you to independently create a vibration rhythm for notifications.

Conclusions

The phone rightfully deserves all the ratings and praise. It turned out to be very balanced, thanks to an excellent screen, a high-quality camera and software. If at the start of sales at a cost of about 30,000 rubles. The glossy plastic and PenTile screen caused controversy, but now, with a fairly affordable price, the passions have subsided a little. Like any other modern smartphone, it is very functional, but at the same time it stands out from the general range of models, thanks to the new intelligent approach of the developers when designing it. The device seems to be trying to predict your thoughts and desires, and you know, it really succeeds.

Samsung Galaxy S3 price

Compare prices for Samsung Galaxy S3 in online stores, choose the best offer.

This time, the new flagship came to us quite quickly - a little more than two weeks after the announcement in London. And we wanted to see it this time more than in the previous two years - Samsung did too well to create a stir, stir up desire and make the Samsung Galaxy S 3 the most anticipated Android smartphone in the world.

Body and appearance

Using this smartphone, I completely changed my outlook on design, ergonomics, quality of materials and the materials themselves. During the presentation, I was slightly perplexed, why plastic again, and also glossy? In fact, when you pick up a smartphone for the first time, you understand that everything is as it should be. Why is the body collapsible? Everything is simple - this is how it should be if you know how to make a smartphone strong and durable. The Samsung Galaxy S 3 is exactly like that, I couldn’t achieve any crunch even with great effort. Even the HTC One X had a little movement on the back, if you press it, everything is gorgeous. The collapsible design has a number of advantages, for example, you can always install a larger capacity battery or buy a spare one if you go camping; also, if the cover is scratched, it can always be replaced. Here the situation is even better than a year ago in , where the cover did not cover the entire back part, which means that if the smartphone flops its back on the asphalt, its non-replaceable part will also be scratched. Of course, a year ago I called this design an improvement, since in the original Galaxy S the cover covered the entire back and had a habit of squeaking as a result. But the Troika managed to make the fastenings reliable; I can’t imagine how something could creak even after a year.

Why plastic? Again, I quickly found a reasonable explanation for myself. If the case were made of aluminum, it would most likely be non-separable; moreover, if it falls hard on asphalt, the metal deteriorates more, and the marks then do not polish themselves. If the case were glass, I don’t even want to imagine what would happen if the smartphone fell even on a flat tile.

Why is the plastic glossy? Again, I’ll quickly... Although no, this remains a question. There is no feeling of cheapness, contrary to expectations, it looks quite beautiful, but it seems to me that such material as in the Nokia 808 PureView would be more practical. There, too, the design is collapsible and the plastic looks better.

But keep in mind that you cannot say that the smartphone is made of glossy plastic, only the cover. If you want, you can change it for something else, I’m sure the Chinese will rivet it.

So, we’ve sorted out the materials and design, what about the design as a whole? The shape of the smartphone practically follows the body and I like it. At least it's not an iPhone, as was the case with the first generation Galaxy S, but it's not a faceless square piece of plastic, like last year's flagship. It can be seen that they worked on the design, the smartphone looks nice in the hands and, moreover, lies comfortably in the hand.

The SGS3 will be available in two color options - white and blue. Again, the absence of black is like some kind of broken stereotype, because any phone is first produced in black! I didn't have the blue one, but I daresay it's just as beautiful as the white one.

I can't call the SGS3 a shovel, it can even be used with one hand, although I almost dropped it a few times. The smartphone is noticeably larger than the iPhone and just as noticeably smaller. Carrying a smartphone in the front pocket of your jeans does not cause the slightest inconvenience, nor does using the phone every day. But this is a matter of taste and palm size; for many, the smartphone may seem too big.

Place everything on the sides of the device

No elements were added. Probably the only thing I would like to see more is the camera key. Although not always, but very often it is more convenient to take photographs with its help. I'll start with the main thing - the display. In the Galaxy S 3 it has a diagonal of 4.8″, is made using Super AMOLED technology and the pixels are arranged using a PenTile scheme. By the way, this is the first question about a smartphone; for me it’s even more relevant than gloss. Yes, many will say that with this resolution, namely 1280x720 pixels, grain is not visible, but this is not so. Yes, when viewing photos, videos, scrolling through desktops, there are no questions. But when reading the text, the ribbing of the letters is noticeable and a pity. After the world community expressed its “fe” about this, Samsung responded, allegedly using PenTile due to the longer service life of the display. But considering that we are talking about periods that are not comparable to the duration of use of one smartphone, it becomes obvious that the manufacturer is saving money on displays with the “Plus” annotation.

Otherwise, everything is fine with the screen, and if you are already familiar with AMOLED technology and like it, the display in the Galaxy S 3 will not disappoint. It is quite bright to maintain readability in the sun, but this can no longer be called a trump card, since, in the same LG Optimus L7, the screen is not Super AMOLED, but its maximum brightness can be even higher. As before, I don’t like the minimum backlight brightness level being too high; in the dark I have to use my smartphone squinting.

It is incredibly pleasing to have an LED indicator, which, moreover, can be customized.

It is located above the display, to the left of the earpiece. When there is nothing to notify, you will not even know about the existence of the notifier! To the right of the speaker are light and proximity sensors, as well as a 1.9 MP camera. By the way, it can record video in 720p, and the pictures are also good.

Below the display we see a standard Samsung set of buttons: a mechanical home key and two touch ones on either side of it. I’m glad that they retained the purpose of the touch keys, but they could have made a multitasking key, like everyone else does. Honestly, I don't see the point. It seems to me that it is much more convenient to hang up the controls open applications on the center key, which you will need to hold down for a second. That's how it's done here!

Yes, in the case of control keys, beauty took precedence over convenience. If the location of the buttons almost at the bottom cannot even be called beautiful, then the shape of the hardware key is nicer than in SGS2 or SGNote, but it is too narrow, you will have to get used to using it.

Unlike, the jack for connecting headphones and a headset is located on top part smartphone. We immediately see the second microphone. At the bottom there is a conversational microphone and a MicroUSB connector.

On the left is the lock and power key, on the right is a paired volume button.

Removing the cover you will see slots for MicroSD and MicroSIM cards, as well as a battery with a capacity of 2100 mAh. The autonomy is enough for a day, but with more or less moderate use. I think, as in the case of the Galaxy S 2, in a month or two a software update will arrive and autonomy will increase.

Camera

One of the main features of the first two generations of Galaxies was the camera - one of the best of its time. Galaxy S 3 is no exception; it has a camera with an 8 MP sensor, video is recorded up to 1080p. So far, nothing surprising, but the quality has become a little better than in the Galaxy Note, the difference with the SGS2 is more noticeable. The video is recorded with excellent sound; before SGS3, this title belonged to the HTC Sensation XL (from Android smartphones). The fact is that if you try to record a video at a concert, with almost any smartphone you will get a video track and a noise track instead of sound. In the Galaxy S 3, even drums played a meter away from the device were recorded perfectly.

It is possible to do continuous shooting at a frequency of 3.5 frames per second, then the smartphone itself offers best photos from the series. You can, of course, save all the photos.

You can see examples of photographs in , or in full size.

Software

This time Samsung did everything as correctly as possible - they didn’t bulge the cores, megahertz and everything else, but did enough powerful smartphone with a focus on software. I keep repeating that hardware is just a tool, you can’t take anything from them other than a guarantee that the software will work well. If all the software I need runs on a certain piece of hardware, you don’t even have to say how many cores there are and whose they are. Android smartphones are beginning to show really good smooth operation of the interface and the Galaxy S 3 is another confirmation of this. Starting from small things: scrolling through desktops, contact lists or long menus, I did not notice a decrease in fps or twitching.

Installed in the smartphone latest version Android 4.0.4, on top of which they stretched the proprietary TouchWiz shell, which here received the Nature UX prefix. The point is that locking, unlocking, the sound of keystrokes and much more are accompanied by sounds from nature. Cool, not cool - I don’t know. It’s not usual, but so be it.

The interface has become nicer than in previous versions of TouchWiz, but it is still far from HTC Sense in terms of beauty and convenience. But in terms of speed, it seems to me that TW has already surpassed its opponent. It’s good that many of the features from bare Android 4.0 have been followed, including the multitasking interface, a menu consisting of applications and widgets, and deleting elements using swipes in some menus. It’s a pity that you forgot about creating a folder by dragging one icon onto another.

But now I realize that I can no longer say: “Take off your shitty shell,” I’m starting to like it. Change the icons and you can rejoice! The thing is, Samsung didn't just say, "Here you go." new version TW with an unusual name and gurgling water, clap!” They brought a lot of unique things here, which were the main focus of the presentation. For example, S Beam, because they were able to accomplish what I dreamed about and once talked about in a video blog, now you can transfer files via Wi-Fi, but connect devices to each other using NFC. Just tap your smartphones and don’t worry about anything. Or what is it worth to recognize faces in photographs, with the ability to add them to contacts and then call directly from the photo! Or Function Smart Stay, which prevents the screen from going dark while you are reading some text. There are many other innovations, for example, S Voice, which is essentially a competitor to Siri. But I like even the advanced S Memo note-taker and planner here.

Sam Siri

This woman, who is actually called S Voice, still has a lot to learn in life. She was sent to the public too early, I think. The voice assistant is called by double-clicking the center key, after which you can speak. Basically, the simplest questions asked in right time, you will get an answer, for example, if you want to know the weather. After receiving the result, the woman goes to rest; you can wake her up by saying “Hi Galaxy”. But in practice, our woman is strong, and sometimes you can’t wake her up with requests alone.

There is also a character, for example, the dialogue below is reminiscent of the children's game “Buy an Elephant” (thanks to the reader on Twitter for the association).

Let me note that it wasn’t me who asked stupid questions, like “I would like to see,” I wanted to finish the sentence, but my aunt just interrupted mid-sentence and, without listening to the end, started talking nonsense. And there are also simple misunderstandings.

(The last screenshot was provided by our reader, obviously it was taken on a different smartphone, but still)

Performance

Perhaps many were waiting for even more powerful hardware, but what is installed in the Galaxy S 3 makes the smartphone the most powerful Android device on the market. This is facilitated by a quad-core Exynos 4212 processor with a frequency of 1.4 GHz and a Mali-400MP graphics accelerator. RAM 1 GB, although it was possible to install two, there is never too much RAM. Built-in memory can be 16, 32 or 64 GB, but remember, there is also a slot for a memory card!

Thanks to its great performance, you can even open Full HD video in a separate window while performing other actions. This window can be moved around the screen without even thinking about the interface!

Conclusion

We received another star among all smartphones overall. Not a revolution, but a really cool device that you want to use and, most importantly, is convenient to use. But, if last year there were simply no alternatives to the Galaxy S 2, until the Galaxy Note and then the Galaxy Nexus came out, now you can safely look at at least three models from other manufacturers: , and , all of them are good in their own way. I can’t even pick out a strong favorite among them, so I recommend that if you are going to buy such a smartphone, look at all these new products. But the competent promotion that I talked about at the very beginning has done its job - Samsung Galaxy S 3 is already the most anticipated smartphone. To date, about 10 million devices have already been ordered by operators and it is very possible that sales of SGS3 in the first few days will set a new record in the market. After talking with the company’s new flagship for just under a week, I can confidently recommend the new product to you!
